Yin Yang is a surf spot located on the southern edge of the Central Atolls of the Maldives, near Hithadhoo Island. This surf spot actually consists of two different sections that can be considered two separate waves. The first section breaks in the direction north-northwest, then the wave bends on the corner of the island, and the second section breaks in the direction west. The second part is usually hollower and offers some barreling section. Shallow reef. The overall ideal swell directions are northeast, east, southeast, and south, while the best wind directions are southwest, west, northwest, and north. But different conditions work best for the different sections of the wave. Not suitable for beginners. Tides play a role in determining wave quality at many surf spots, but some locations like Yin Yang remain consistent regardless of tidal changes. In these spots, the depth of the water over the seabed stays relatively stable, meaning the waves break in a similar way throughout the tidal cycle. Whether it's high, medium, or low tide, the wave conditions at these spots are largely unaffected, offering consistent surf sessions at any time of day.
